هُوَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلَ رَسُولَهُ بِالْهُدَى وَدِينِ الْحَقِّ لِيُظْهِرَهُ عَلَى الدِّينِ كُلِّهِ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ
“It is He who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth, that He may make it prevail over all religions, even though the polytheists may detest it”
Imam Sadiq (as) explained the verse by saying, I swear to Allah that the Taweel (hidden interpretation) of this verse does not apply yet, and it will not apply until the rising of the Qaem (as). When the Qaem (as) rises, there will not remain any disbeliever in Allah nor any polytheist in lmamate who will not “detest” the rising of the Qaem (as).
(Even) if the disbelievers or the polytheists hide inside the rocks, the rocks will speak to the companions of the Qaem (as) and say, “O believer! There is a disbeliever hiding inside of me, so break me and kill him.” (Kamaluddin volume 2 page 670)
Imam Sadiq (as) explained the above verse as follow – When the Qaem (as) rises, not even one disbeliever nor polytheist will remain who will not “detest” the rising of the Qaem (as). (Tafseer Ayyashi volume 2 page 86)
Abu Baseer said, I asked Imam Sadiq (as) about the above verse. The Imam (as) said, “I swear to Allah that the Taweel of this verse does not apply yet.” I asked, “May I sacrifice myself for you. When will it apply?” Imam (as) replied, After the rising of the Qaem (as) there will not remain any disbeliever in Allah nor any polytheist in Imamate who does not “detest” the rising of the Qaem (as).
If the disbelievers or the polytheists hide inside the rocks, the rocks will speak to the companions of the Qaem (as) and say, “O believer! There is a disbeliever hiding inside of me, so break me and kill him.” Then he (the companion of the Qaem (as)) will capture the disbeliever and kill him. (Taweel Al Ayat Al Zahirah page 663)
Regarding the verse “He is who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth, that He may make it prevail over all religions, even though the polytheists may detest it” (Chapter 9, verse 33).
Ameerul Momeneen (as) said, has this verse applied yet!? I swear to He who has my life in His hands, that it has not. This verse will not apply until (the people) in every village testify at all times that there is no god but Allah and Mohammed (sawa) is the Messenger of Allah. (Taweel Al Ayat Al Zahirah page 663)
I asked Imam Kazim (as) about the verse, “He is who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth”.
The Imam (as) replied, (This verse refers to) the order of Allah and His Messenger about the Wilayat, and “religion of truth” is the Wilayat.”
I asked, What does “that He may make it prevail over all religions” (Chapter 9, verse 33) mean?
Imam (as) replied, This will apply at the time of the rising of the Qaem (as), when the “religion of truth” will prevail over all religions.”(Al Kafi volume 1 page 432)
Imam Baqir (as) said, The (above verse) will apply at the time of the rising of Mahdi (as) from the family of Mohammed (sawa)” when everyone will believe in Mohammed (sawa)
