“Pray more for my reappearance because in it ,is your salvation”
– Imam Mahdi (ajtf)
It has been narrated that Muhammad b. Hakim said to Abu ‘Abdillah, Ja’far b. Muhammad as-Sadiq (as):
Who is responsible for granting this ma’rifah (of the Imam)?”
He replied:
“It is the doing of Allah and the servants have no role in it
(on their own – without the intervention of Allah).”

The Above narration clearly inform us that to attain the ma;rifa of the Imam of Our Time (ajtf), we must supplicate to Allah swt to help us and bestow us with Ma’rifa of himself and Our blessed Imam (ajtf)
Below is the link to the supplication that has been recommended for attaining Ma’rifa of Imam Mahdi (ajtf).
Through a valid chain of authority, it has been narrated that Shaykh Abu-`Amr, the first Emissary (safir) of Imam al-Mahdi (`ajtfs)dictated the following prayer to Abu-Muhammad ibn Hammam and ordered him to say it [frequently]. This supplication has been also recorded by Sayyid Ibn Tawus in his book of Jamal al-Usbu` following a number of other supplications to be said after the `Asr Prayers on Fridays and after the major prayer. He added the following: I personally have recognized the great merit of it through a grace of Almighty Allah that He has bestowed upon me exclusively; therefore, you may rely upon this supplication, which is as follows:

اَللّٰهُمَّ عَرِّفْنِىْ نَفْسَك َ – فَاِنَّكَ اِنْ لَّمْ تُعَرِّ فْنِىْ نَفْسَكَ لَمْ اَعْرِفْ رَسُوْلَكَ
اَللّٰهُمَّ عَرِّفْنِىْ رَسُوْلَكَ – فَاِنَّكَ اِنْ لَمْ تُعَرِّ فْنِىْ رَسُوْلَكَ لَمْ اَعْرِفْ حُجَّتَكَ
اَللّٰهُمَّ عَرِّفْنِىْ حُجَّتَكَ – فَاِنَّكَ اِنْ لَّمْ تُعَرِّ فْنِىْ حُجَّتَكَ ضَلَلْتُ عَنْ دِيْنِىْ
O Allah introduce Yourself to me – For, if you do not introduce Yourself to me, I will not recognize Your Prophet (sawa).
O Allah make me recognize Your Prophet (sawa) ,- because if I do not recognize Your Prophet (sawa), I will not recognize Your Proof (Imam (as)).
O Allah make me recognize Your Proof (Imam) – For, if you do not make me recognize Your Proof , I will deviate from my religion
Another Recommended supplication:
Allahumma ajil Le Waliyekal Faraj
